Meals to Children - The Ct Department of Education and End Hunger Connecticut are partnering to offer free meals to children throughout the summer. CT Youth Employment Program. CT has released $2 million from the Coronavirus Relief Funds to expand the Connecticut Youth Employment Program, contact the nearest regional workforce development board for more information.

If you have become unemployed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, you can apply for unemployment benefits online here.Unemployed Connecticut residents can apply for an extension of unemployment benefits under the CARES Act a new Pandemic Emergency Unemployment Compensation (PEUC) program added another 13 weeks of benefits for those who already were receiving benefits prior to the pandemic. The Department of Labor is ready to accept those applications at www.filectui.com.

Testing 

There are seven testing locations across New Haven. There is no barrier to get tested. Visit the City’s COVID-19 website or call the New Haven Health Department  at (203) 946-4949 to get tested.  For testing sites throughout Connecticut check out CT’s 211 Testing Locator

Emergency Medicaid for Non-Citizens / COVID 19. Ct residents who meet financial eligibility requirements but do not qualify for full Medicaid due to immigration status, including undocumented individuals, are eligible to receive Medicaid to treat an emergency medical condition. COVID-19 testing and testing-related provider visits are emergency visits that will be covered by Emergency Medicaid. Emergency Medicaid is not a factor in federal immigration ‘public charge’ determinations.
